Chelsea’s next horse was one of her current top horses; Caramba, who was bought as a 5 year old in 2012. Chelsea says “He was very naughty but also talented but he’s taken me to where I am today”. As a 6 year old Caramba placed in the top 10 of every national final he jumped in! As a 7 year old the pair moved into the realm of international competition, starting in the UK as part of the international experience program, and from this they were picked to represent Great Britain in Bonheiden as part of the International Experience Team. They moved-up to County Level Area Trials when Caramba was 8 years old and at 9 they represented Great Britain as part of the Young Rider Squad; jumping a double-clear in the Nations Cup on their first appearance.
Some of Chelsea’s major achievements include winning the Winter B&C National Championship in 2015 with Caramba at The Royal International Horse Show, in their first time competing in the main arena at Hickstead and to win such a prestigious producers class whilst still completing her A levels she describes as “an amazing feeling”. They also took top place in the Bury Farm All Star Grand Prix of 2016.
Another ride for Chelsea is Millfield Baloney. Together they have won several International Grand Prix’ including Allington CSI** 1.40. Chelsea has now taken on rides for other owners and she is building a successful string of horses with the support of sponsors Equestrizone and owners alike, as well as her family and trainer Annette Lewis.
