FlexiMover® GOLD is a must after injury, and for young horses of any age who need support for their orthopaedic development. It is safe to feed to horses and ponies of any age, so is ideal for the very young who require extra support.
The majority of joint supporting supplements for horses – and for humans – contain chondroitin and glucosamine. FlexiMover® GOLD is a high-strength chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine hydrochloride combination that supplies active levels that beat all other joint products on the market.
FlexiMover® GOLD should be used long-term for best effect, and the amount can be halved longer term, if required.
FlexiMover® GOLD is:
- Safe for long-term use
- Safe for competition use
Feed FlexiMover® GOLD to:
- All horses and ponies in hard work
- Performance and competing horses and ponies
- Older horses and ponies
- Young developing horses as a prophylactic
- Nutritionally support ligament, tendon and joint health
- Naturally sustain joint elasticity and all-round mobility
- Support musculoskeletal and navicular health
- Support the body’s natural anti-inflammatory and pain mechanisms/responses

Glucosamine is a well-regarded supplement for joint health. The compound has been shown to promote cartilage metabolism, therefore supporting joint structures and maintaining mobility.
Horses kept for their athletic abilities are at high risk of musculoskeletal problems, and injuries and diseases of the joints are a common problem. In fact, the most common cause of lameness in horses is due to joint problems involving a breakdown and degradation of the cartilage.
Supplementation can be an effective way to support the joints of working and older horses, especially those showing signs of wear and tear. Young horses can benefit from extra joint support during periods of intensive work, and joint supporting supplements can also be used prophylactically i.e. to help support good health and function before any problems occur. Hard working, older and young, developing horses will benefit from supplementation with FlexiMover® GOLD. Supporting the healthy performance horse with supplementation before any wear and tear is evident is prudent. FlexiMover® GOLD nourishes the cartilage, aiding joint health and function.
Chondroitin and glucosamine are the two gold-standard ingredients for horse joint supplements:
- Chondroitin for horses - a large complex molecule, which is classed as a glycosaminoglycan, and is found naturally in cartilage, skin and connective tissue. It forms the basis of the collagen and proteoglycan matrix that holds water, giving cartilage strength and flexibility
- Glucosamine for horses - an easily-absorbed source of a natural amino sugar found in the body which provides the building blocks for healthy joint cartilage. It has no known side-effects
Glucosamine is the most evidence-based of all the joint-supporting compounds and a must for horses of all ages who need extra mobility support. It is ideal to support natural healing after injury. Glucosamine is a crucial building block of cartilage, joint fluid and other joint tissue. It has been shown to promote cartilage metabolism, therefore supporting joint structures and maintaining mobility, and it supports the horse’s natural anti-inflammatory processes and pain responses.
Research in humans has shown that 1500 mg (1.5 g) daily is needed for effectiveness, so there is no point in feeding this, or even double this amount to a horse. Vets and nutritionists recommend 10 g of actual glucosamine daily for horses, which equates to 12.5 g of glucosamine hydrochloride.
Chondroitin is a highly-regarded supplement for joint health. Chondroitin supports the regeneration of proteoglycans in articular cartilage that are lost in damage and/or inflammation. Chondroitin supports the body's enzyme inhibition mechanism/response involved in cartilage breakdown and supports the horse’s natural anti-inflammatory processes.
The human dose for chondroitin is 400-1200 mg (0.4-1.2 g) daily. Vets and nutritionists recommend 5 g daily for horses.
